New Directions Community Church
New Directions is an externally focussed church whose vision is to make disciples who will change our city and impact the nations. One of the ways that we do this is through our Ignite ministry for raising pioneering leaders. We also partner with other organisations including the following in pursuing our vision.
The Tailrace Centre is an award winning and unique facility developed and owned by New Directions. Every month, approximately 2000 people from the broader community flow through the centre. The centre was built as a way of positioning the church right in the middle of a marketplace, a place where the people come and go every day. Within the centre are conference and convention facilities, facilities for training events, celebrations, formal dinners and weddings, as well as Tailrace Cafe and Kids Paradise which you can read about below.
Kids Paradise is an amazing indoor children’s playground designed to stimulate fun and imagination for the whole family in a safe environment. Like the rest of the Tailrace Centre, it’s open to the public seven days a week but also provides superb facilities for New Directions kids and youth ministries. Kids Paradise is a private business that actively partners with New Directions in a range of initiatives including the annual Enchanted Evening, Warrior Night and Father and Daughter Ball.
Empart is a church planting movement focused on reaching the unreached in Northern India, Nepal and surrounding countries through equipping indigenous people to become church planters and leaders. As well as a range of compassion ministries including children’s homes, leteracy training, women’s tailoring centres and medical missions, Empart has developed many training centres for the raising up of church planters and leaders with the result that in 10 years over 3000 churches have been planted. Northern India’s born again Christian population is estimated to be only 0.14% of the total population.
2Significance and Half Time are marketplace ministries that work in the area of mentoring and empowering business leaders throughout Australia. Many of these business leaders are “half timers” who seek to find a greater sense of purpose and fulfillment for the second part of their lives.
Next1000 is an Australian church planting initiative designed to put church planting on the agenda to stimulate the seeding and nurturing of church planting movements that will see the next 1000 churches planted in Australia.
